2/26/10

All three orchestra's did a SUPERB job at State OMEA on 2/19/10. CHAMBER earned a Superior (I), and STRING and CONCERT earned an Excellent (II).

Looking ahead, our next concert is Thursday, March 11th, 2010 with the Middle School Orchestra. Music for this concert will range from each group repeating one of their OMEA selections, and some "Pop" tunes. Concert orchestra is preparing a piece by the rock group Paramore titled "That's What you Get".  String orchestra is preparing a piece by Coldplay "Viva la Vida". Chamber orchestra is preparing two medleys; one that celebrates the King of Pop Michael Jackson, and a trip of contemporary hits from Sean Jay, Lady Gaga, and the Black Eyed Peas. Also feautred on this concert is the Bach Violin Concerto in A, featuring soloist Dylan Trautman. There will be a small reception after the concert for all of the parents and students, so we hope to see you there.


Chamber Auditions for the 2010-2011 school year are taking place this week, and we will have letters out for the students by next friday (March 5th).
